PERSONS.

Clemency. Prudence. Liberaltiy. Justice. Lineage. Piety. Temperance. Fortitude.

AN / Harmonious Rivalship / OF / VERTTUES: / SUITED / To the Happy and Glorious CORONATION / Of the Most Serene / GEORGE, / KING OF GREAT BRITAIN, &c.

CHORUS.
GLORIOUS Prince! the Hope of Britain!
With propitious Worth endu’d;
On the happy’st Throne thou sitst on,
That cou’d e’er exalt the Good.

II.
Loyal Subjects, loud expressing
Joyful Welcomes through the Land;
Crown his Head with e’ery Blessing,
Gladly owing his Command.

III.
Regal Vertues him Adorning
With Resplendent Rays appear,
Which, like Comets, give us Warning
That our Halcyon Days are near.

CLEMENCY.
Tender to Distress’d Complainers
Granting e’re his Throne’s address’d;
Mercy meeting each Condition,
Early stops the sad Petition,
And unmask’d our Griefs Redress’d.

PRUDENCE.
Wisdom ever mildly Swaying,
Passion’s most Destructive Rage;
Content Reviving,
Our Empire Thriving.
Make his Reign a golden Age.

LIBERALITY.
Merit, ev’ry where’s Rewarded,
Favours in such splendour shown;
That his Person’s strongly Guarded
While his Friends surround the Throne.

JUSTICE.
Justice with Impartial Hand,
Had her Balance poys’d of old;
France, for Empire long contended,
Fears the Beam is now suspended,
Since, Great George the Scale does hold.

LINEAGE.
From an antient Race descended,
Manly, Pious, Just and Wise;
All the Graces him befriended,
All the Vertues sure attended;
Bless’d his Birth, and told his Rise.

PIETY.
Coelestial Love dispensing
It’s Heavenly Fruits below,
Age Flowing
Vice growing
Still urge in Proportion
His Zeal for Devotion
To CHear the Church with Pious Heat
And be as Good as he is Great;
Holy Rites and Grants bestow.

TEMPERANCE.
George’s Cares, Endearments banish,
And Indulging thoughts destroy
No refin’d Delight’s prevail,
Busines does his Taste employ,
And he seldom make a Meal,
Or Regale,
But to fill his Friends with Joy.

FORTITUDE.
Fix’d as the Poles on their firm Axis standing,
Vertue and Valour unconquer’d joyn;
Glory and Prowess his Passions Commanding,
Blend to Emblazon his Royal Line.

CHORUS.
Raise your Hearts, Exert your Voices
To Record his Coronation;
Europe in her Peace Rejoyces,
George has giv’n it Confirmation.

II.
He, like William, Freedom Loving,
Comes to raise the Nation’s Glory;
Arms and Trade more Improving,
Will advance your Fame in Story.

FINIS.
